I helped make 2 pumpkin pies tonight. I stirred. Then my dad poured the mix into the 2 pie crusts. We had mix leftover, so I made it into a pumpkin milkshake.

At first the shake was too sweet and needed more ice-cream. But it was still runny so I added more ice-cream. Still too much pumpkin, more ice-cream. There were globs of vanilla ice-cream floating in it, so I added more ice-cream. Then I used a fork to give it a 2 minute stir and finally had the most perfect once-a-year treat, a delicious pumpkin milkshake.

Steve and I were talking today. We agreed that Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday for the following 10 reasons:

10. You can stuff yourself and no one cares cuz everyone else is stuffing themselves at the same time.

9. It's the best meal of the year.

8. The whole point of the holiday is a good one.

7, 6, 5, 4, 3. You see family you don't often get to see, and if you love them, great, and if you don't, it's only once a year and you get to catch up, and anyway, the food more than makes up for having to see them again.

2. Everyone gets the day off from work. And the day after unless they have a horrible job, but that's not the majority of people; and because Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday, that makes a 4 day vacation in my book.

And the number one reason why Thanksgiving is Steve's favorite holiday:

1. All the other holidays you have to give presents.

Ah, Steve. Kind man.
