PISS AND ANGER AND RAGE

Guess how much this costs:

While roller-skating, skidding on a tiny rock, falling, and hurting your left hand and
going to the emergency room at 8:30 that night and
waiting and
waiting and
waiting and
telling the check-in nurse that you fell and hurt your hand while roller-skating and
waiting some more and
waiting more and
more waiting and
getting your left hand x-rayed three times by a commisserating x-ray technician who goes on and on about the evils of roller-blading and
waiting, waiting, waiting, and more waiting, and
overhearing someone else mistake your fall for roller-blading instead of roller-skating and
some more waiting and
getting shuffled to a little room where you try to sleep because it's almost midnight now and
talking with a doctor about how you fell and hurt your hand and
listening to the doctor tell you no bones were broken while you were dangerously roller-blading and
listening to him prescribe you to live on a dangerous amount of Ibuprofen and
waiting some more and
helping (and correcting) the night nurse as she puts the correct (thanks to your instruction) bandage on your hand (the left one -- the one that's swollen and hurt you must remind her) and
waiting some more and
getting the go-ahead to go home and
correcting someone on your way out for the fourth time that night about how you weren't trying to do any tricks on your roller-blades because you do not have any roller-blades and
going home tired and pissed and
three weeks later still having a hand that hurts.

Guess how much this frustration and pain and anger and anxiety and stupidness costs?

Here's a price tag for ya:

One bill from the doctor: $255.00 "still being processed" with your crumby insurance.

One bill from the hospital: $1,466.45
of which you must pay: $617.00

For WHAT?! A hand that still hurts!
