She lives. (Or where our tax dollars go...)

Today I was insulted by a Navy man. He came to inspect some of our boards that the Navy seemed to want. They ordered the boards in November. Actually, it was a 15-page quote request which everyone here took to be a purchase order. So the boards have been made and packaged and they awaited Navy inspection.

Today he showed up.

This total idiot of an inspector doesn't know what he's doing. -- He admits that.

"I don't know why I'm here," he says.

"Where are you from -- what company?" I ask.

He shuffles through papers angrily and growls at me...

"I'm supposed to see....they just told me about this yesterday....I don't know why I'm here...I'm supposed to see..."

"Chad Pennebaker?" I ask.

"No, I'm supposed to see..." He keeps looking.

Since I know we're expecting a Navy guy today to inspect the boards, I try to help him.

"Are you from the Navy?" I ask.

"Yes."

"OK, I'll get Chad."

Chad's on the phone, so I offer to help the Lost Navy Guy. But he doesn't want my help and he's offended Chad won't talk to him.

We all walk down to the shipping room. (Chad's still on his cell.)

I show the Navy guy the box. He continues on about how he doesn't know why he's here.

I say, "I think you're supposed to inspect some boards for the Navy."

Then he says, "I know how to do my job. I'm not an electrician. blah, blah, blah."

He goes on and on, steaming at me, with his two eyes going off each in their own direction. I hand him over to Chad, who by now is off the phone.

What a cross-eyed jerk!

In conclusion, the guy never did know why he was here, usually he isn't sent out for anything under "insert big number here." No call for him to get any attitude with me though.

We almost have a bet that the poor guy in the Navy who wanted these boards sometime way before last November won't be getting them for at least another three months. (Usual turnaround time being one day.)
