Busy lately. Blog written little by little.

How's everyone?

I'm drinking coffee. I only drink coffee when I feel like it (which happens rarely) so this is an occasion. If only I had a little cookie to go with it. That would be so yummy.

I'm busy today.

I've been having a very unusual week.

It started with the weekend.

Saturday I auditioned for an Irish play called "Megan's Skin." I was asked to go to callbacks. Still not sure exactly what character I was auditioning for.

Sunday I had callbacks for the play. I was asked to do the reading on Tuesday night. Definitely not sure if I'd been cast or was just helping out with the reading because I thought the director, who has a very heavy spanish accent, said he liked this person (pointed to someone else), that someone (pointing to someone else), that person (not me again), and could we all make the reading Tuesday night? So I thought I was asked because I was still there and he needed another body for the script read-through.

Then I went with my mom to visit my grandma in her new assisted living home.

While we were there, my sis and two nephews showed up. From Utah. They had just arrived in town and they went straight to see my grandma and us. And you know, it's not that bad, the place where she's at. The decor is very nice and they're very kind to her. Her mood was chipper.

Monday I had off. Slept in. Worried about the play and my status in it. Grew to hate the friggin' Irish accent. Learned my grandma's house had been broken into and some things stolen. I HATE THIEVES. Despicable to hurt someone as sweet as my grandma.

Tuesday I worked. Then in the evening I went to the director's house in SF and we all read the play. He's also studied architecture and built the most beautiful 3-4 story deck/balcony in his backyard. Wow. Talented guy. And it turns out I am cast! And I have a good part too. All very weird. It's like no one bothered to tell me. I went there thinking I was doing them a favor, wondering if I even had a part.

Wednesday I took the day off work (pre-arranged, no calling-in-pretend-sickness) and I drove my mom, sis, and kids to Santa Cruz! Yay! What fun. The sad part was Alex and I spent only 1/2 an hour at the beach because sis and mom and Andy were waiting for us so we could all eat lunch. And the water wasn't even freezing cold or anything. After that we strolled the Boardwalk and Alex and I or Kathy and Alex would ride some rides. Then for dinner we ate at Cafe Bella Napoli which was delicious but tad pricey. Then back home. And I am not, for once, sunburnt. I wore a certain white hat which I have been teased for in the past. Okay, so it does look a bit dorky. But it works. And I slathered, I mean SLATHERED on the 50-level sunblock. I even convinced Mommy, who is the "I only get sunburned on my shoulders" type, to protect her WHITE FRECKLED ARMS, BACK, AND FACE from the cancer-causing rays of the sun. And she wore a hat too.

After work I have to get cracking on the play.

And then tomorrow Chad's taking us all out to lunch somewhere because it's Connie's last day.

So you see, it feels like I'm only working two days out of the entire week, which is pretty cool.

Hope everyone is doing well. I will try to read your blogs when I get a minute.
