nothing like a day with jen

to get me all giggly and dorky. that was fun.

first, jen makes a triangle out of my scarf. It Doesn't Matter. What's important is that jen now knows how to knit. so what if her guage is 3 times as wide as mine and there's now a "jen hole" the size of a knitting needle in my scarf. who cares. live and let live. knit and let knit.

the concert was fun. i didn't get sunburnt. i live so close to where it was that i could walk home and back in under 1/2 an hour. which is what i did, to get my knitting stuff and nail polish. so while jen knitted and dayni chilled, i removed very old nail polish from my toe nails. then i began painting the new stuff on but GROSS. ungodly shade of pink. yucko. so i'll try something different after work tonight.

the music was pretty good - this was the Alice Summer Thing concert in the park. it was fun to people watch too. and there was a trapeze thing that looked interesting. oh, and i had my first knish, which was good. i tried to call my dad to wish him a Happy Father's Day but i couldn't hear anything.

so after it ended we went to cha cha cha's, per jen's request. good suggestion, jen! i like sangria. i think that was the first time i had sangria. the waiters are cute there and both had accents, different ones. i also liked the sweet bananas and black beans and fried potatoes and rice veggies...it was all so yummy. then jen and i got very giggly in the stores along haight. particularly the tibetan store where jen called a dragon a horse (and is still defenive about it!) and was looking through the ring section for hoop earrings. and she thought I was drunk. humpht. jen and i should drink more, i forgot how giggly we can get together. lots of quirky stuff to browse through and jen dolled us up at the buffalo exchange but unfortunately i'd spent my loot at cha cha cha's so i didn't get this cute shirt i saw. oh well.

anyway, then jen went home (sobered up) and dayni and i watched a really boring movie. dayni, ever the martyr, stuck it out, despite all my hints that we didn't have to keep watching it if we were both bored silly. jen is blunt but dayni and i will suffer through something because we're both too polite. also, we kind of kept hoping it'd end or get better.

i can't even remember friday or saturday. what'd i do? oh yes.. i got my bamboo roll-down curtain thing and ran some errands. i haven't put it up and wouldn't you know, the house outside my window had their blindingly bright lights on again, all night. i have to find a drill though. and saturday night we celebrated father's day and ate at this pretty yummy waffle place.

by the way, it looks like these 3 fish aren't going to be dying off on me.

i'm looking forward to lunch because i'm going to get myself a slurpee & see amy & hear about her trip. eegads. i better buy my plane ticket already.

only about 15 more minutes. i shall be good now and work.
