Jazzing up Utah

Hello from a land far, far away.

Just to fill you in, I flew into Salt Lake City at 11:45 pm Sunday night where I was met by my dad and 18 degree weather. What a nice daddy. It was his birthday too. Much thanks and shivering.

My sis and hub have finished (enough to be usable) the guest bedroom and bathroom in the basement so this year I get to stay in cozy, spanking-new, nice hotel-like clean surroundings, instead of the front room on the futon! My own bath, yay!

EARLY Monday morning Alex and a babbling, crawling Andy (he's turned into an adorable imp) woke me up. Sometime later I actually got up and went upstairs and saw the twins. Guess what guys! They're probably going to have green eyes! It's a shmiracle, as my mom would say (a small miracle). As you all know, brown eyes have for many years been predominant in the Avery household, and then began their stance in the Devlin homestead, but it looks to be no more.

And they're sooooo cute. Sean is smaller and has little pointy elf ears. Ryan, slightly bigger, is also a tidge darker in complexion. It's not hard to tell them apart when they're together but they do look identical. If they were the same size it'd be harder.

So we celebrated 4 birthdays today.

I feel like I'm out in the boondocks. It's all country around here. It's also freezing and except for that I should be riding a horse and wearing a cowboy hat.

Oh, and your latest update:

Alex loves football. (Hence, the title of my post). My 2 oldest nephews have become sports fanatics. Football this, football that. One car ride Alex and I played a game naming all the football teams we (mostly he) knew. The Utah Jazz is the basketball team. (We wandered into other sports because of my lack of knowledge.)

Alex tells me:

"I'm going to be a football player when I grow up. But people will tell me to get a real job. But that's okay because I'll tell them this IS a real job."

:)

Alex and Andy both got Raiders gear for their bdays. Andy is adorable, his helmet is way too big. He babbles but understands the jist of football and runs around half blinded by the helmet yelling "TA-DOWN!!" "FOOBALL!!" and "TACKL!!"

I love having 4 nephews, even though at this stage they are a TON of work. (Refer to my sis's blog for a recent example.)

Hope all is good with you and yours...
