Having said that, let me send my condolences to Kumar. I'm sorry to hear about his passing but I'm certain he was well-loved. Also, cute do's.
Sending good vibes to those needing to get over the blahs... know what that's like.
And Congrats to Jen H for getting her apprenticeship! I'm always happy to read and hear of your birth stories and progress, because your passion and love of your work shows and is inspiring.
Moving on,
Birdseed for Dinner
I cooked millet tonight. It's been so long since I cooked quinoa that I forgot what it looked like! Millet looks like (or is) birdseed. Quinoa has to be rinsed or slightly soaked first or else it has a bitter taste, so there I was rinsing the beejeebies out of my millet, still thinking it was quinoa, and not remembering why it looked so yellow. It wasn't until I double checked my cupboard to see what quinoa looked like that I realised it really was millet and not the quinoa. Millet (aka birdseed) is perfectly humanly edible, especially because I got it in the bulk section of Rainbow Grocery, not a pet food store. I had it with some veggies and a teriyaki/oriental sauce of some kind that made everything ok. I prefer quinoa though. It's so yummy.
Last night I tried to go to bed early but couldn't sleep. This morning I hit the snooze for almost an hour, and couldn't get up. Why??
