The vocab - rice grain donation site does work. I got up to level 50 and I remember new (strange) words I've learned. You can also learn countries (their location and shape) and country capitals, very interesting and useful site. I like learning the countries. Seems I always miss the same ones -- Latvia, Lithuania, some African countries, etc. But I do remember a lot, it's a very neat site!
Last night I went to a FPU class preview. The class starts next Monday for 13 weeks. It's called Financial Peace University. You just buy the course materials and then you have lifetime membership to take any courses for the rest of your life, do the online forum thing, etc. for free. The course materials I got at a discount directly from the class facilitator, whom I met last night at Calvary Presbyterian, where the class was held.
I think I'll learn a lot from the course, especially for when life gets more complicated.
So today my dad has back surgery. I hope it goes well. I'm a little worried about it. I'm staying with my mom for a week or so to help them out. I hope he heals quickly.
EDIT: Just read Jen's blog. I'm glad you survived, but what a depressing week. There's a girl at FPU that might be facing a lay-off also and so she's feeling the pressure. Also, for my sis, I haven't heard anything yet about the surgery and facebook is acting quirky. So right about now I'm going to go back to work like a good employee. :)
