elephants

I've always liked elephants, particularly when I learned about how protective and gentle they are with their babies, how the whole family group will huddle and protect the baby in a circle when danger is around.

So I was pretty disturbed to read and see this about Ringling Bros. Circus and elephants.

One of those things I was aware of but learning more about really highlighted the problem for me.

I'm not tempted to go to a circus with elephants, but want to spread awareness about this issue to others who may be interested. The whole mama/baby thing is what gets me. Like the song in Dumbo, "Baby of Mine". It's pure evil to rip a baby from its mama, let alone all the other horrible stuff they do to the baby elephants. It's obvious to anyone with a brain, heart, eyes, or ears, that what's done to these elephants is terribly cruel.

I want this info to spread so that the families who do want to go to the circus can make a more informed choice.
