the ant tip below doesn't really work too well. :(
I'm doing pretty well with pmemory. Did you know that I'm a student at The School of Phenomenal Memory?
There are 60 lessons in total. The first 12 are supposed to be the hardest, and I certainly think they are. I'm on Lesson 14 today. I'm averaging one lesson a day. I've learned 99 number FCs (Figurative Codes ~ image for each number which follows an alphanumeric code) and the FCs for the months, the alphabet, and today I'll learn the weekdays. I have been journaling my progress on the pmemory forums (think it's a protected forum just for students) and there I find a lot of support and other students who are on this same, strange journey. For instance in Lesson 12 I memorized 100 numbers in 37 minutes. Actually that was slow, it should have only taken 20 minutes, but my mind was wandering. Also, the more FCs you have at reflex level, the faster your speed will be. Reflex level meaning like knowing "A" means "A" or the speed with which you'd pull your hand off a hot stove if it happens to touch one.
Lesson 13 was very interesting because you begin to build a database of support images which you'll use to memorize all types of information on. It took less than 20 minutes but I have in my head 125 support images. And it's very simple. I'll get even faster the more I practice, and then pretty soon I'll be able to memorize hundreds and even thousands of precise information.
Anyway, it's really hard to explain this to people but it's very neat to see it working.
I've also been job hunting and that is up and down. Just when I get set up to take a refresher course in bartending I read a book about a recovering alcoholic and the idea of bartending for my living now does not sit well with me. Hopefully something will turn up soon.
Hope everyone's enjoying life
