I am rejuvenated.
When I came home I thought the house smelt smokey, like when you've been at a campfire. I thought I must have gotten used to it and not noticed it until right now.
So now I'm up in my room and I realize it's my hair. It's from my red knit hat I wore when I was skating.
Boy, chilly tonight. My poor arms were freezing. Tomorrow I'm going to see about investing in size 8 1/2 skates because this size 9 business is getting old. Just to give you an idea -- I wear 2 pairs of puffy socks and tie the laces as tight as I can but halfway through my skate my feet start shifting around in there. Besides the calluses I'm developing, it's ruining my style, and in some instances ruining my balance too. So there. Tomorrow I'll do it. Hopefully they'll be still in stock and on sale like the first time. (Retail $140.00 ick, Sale: $39.99! :)
My parents came home before I came upstairs so I sang the song I wrote for Alex (it's a bedtime song I'll sing to him next time I tuck him in.) OK, so I didn't write the melody, but I wrote the words.
So I sang it. It's beautiful. You can imagine -- it's that superman/fiveforfighting(? I'm so bad with band names) that one "I can't stand to fly/I'm not that naive/I'm just out to find/the better part of me" Ok, you got the melody? Now sing this song at bedtime for your kids:
Can't you see the time?
It's time to go to bed.
I know it's been fun
But all things have their end.
It's time to say good night
To all of our friends
Time to wish them well and say
There'll be a brand new day
It's time to dream away
And you know I'm here to stay
You have to do the ending on your own, doesn't follow the song.
So after I sing it, I put my heart into it for my mom, she says, "Yes, he'll fall asleep."
Hmpt.
It was a funny night. My aunt gave my mom a magazine about Country Woman or something like that. My mom says, "Aunt (nameless to protect identity), who lives in outer-space, gave me this." We were cracking up flipping through it.
Highlights:
Pg. 35 -- Secrets of Rice.
And this poem on the back about meeting a deer on a pathway, you'd think that'd be sweet, right? It was hilarious.
I don't want to bother going downstairs, but the first line was something like:
Camera-accompanied, I walked
!
That still makes me laugh!
Maybe it's my problem and I'm missing something.
Anyway, what else, what else. So many thoughts had I whilst I skated...
I remember now! I was going to add on something else I did today that ended up being another nothing:
I saw this ad on craigslist for $20.00 bikes in Oakland, trying to get rid of inventory, etc, don't email, just show up, they close at 7 pm. So I snuck my dad's truck (my parents were out pretty much all day) and get there at 5:30 pm-ish and the door's locked! There's a dog in there that barks at me and a lot of used bikes but no people, anywhere. Grrrr! I live in San Leandro! This is not a quick drive for me!
So I drove all the way back home without a bike. Like I was just wasting minutos of mi vida.
That's another nothing thing I did today that I forgot to mention earlier. (Now you can die, I know.)
I like the smell of my hair, but I'm going to have to take a shower cuz of my skate.
And, uh, the presents remain unwrapped. I'll do it tomorrow. (I'm too tired now.) Anyway, that kind of thing is a morning job.
