Back from Reno.

Lotsa fun:

Arrived in a breezy 3-4 hours. Leaving at 10 PM definitely has its perks, like no traffic.

Very tired. Went to bed at around 3 AM after meeting Kathy & fam at the Super 8. Alex was dead asleep but everyone else visited or wailed or got ready for bed for a few hours.

Woke up Saturday at the crack(whip!) of dawn to Alex, Andy, and Kathy quietly (or loudly) starting the day.

Got up later very drowsy and not rested at all.

Went to breakfast. First tried Super 8's cafe but it looked like the line would be too long. Instead went to Reno mall where I had fried rice and veggies which were much tastier than previous entry example from Jasmine.

Then we walked around the mall to find Alex and Andy some toys.

Then we went to Toys R Us. Guess why.

Then we ate at Marie Calenders. I had a salad with vinaigrette which was horrible. (What it really was was smashed tomatoes.) Also had a hearty veggie soup and cornbread and yumyumyum lemon mirengue. (To make up for gross salad.) Andy slept as he should have done the night before, while we ate.

Then back to Super 8. Alex and I swam. Or rather, played at the steps of the pool. We played a variation of Mission Impossible/Pirates of the Caribean/"Fire Truck Submarines." Very illogical but fun.

Then we all went to Circus Circus where I won a big white teddy bear. I'm not into big stuffed toys but that was the only choice. I won it my first time playing this "roll the ball into the numbers slot" game. You could only get under 12 or over 31 or else you lost. So I played it very slowly and carefully and I won! Yippy!

We played some other games. We all played the racing horses/racing camels. That was fun but I'm very bad at that one.

Then Sunday Kathy & fam left early and mom & I slept in.

Then we got up, got dressed and packed everything back into the car.

Then we left to eat breakfast/lunch (it was noon but we hadn't eaten.)

We tried to find a diner.

So we gave up and went downtown to the casinos.

Finally we found parking.

So we ate at Harrahs in Reno.

Not the best.

We played Keno and lost $4.00 (one game.)

Stupid Keno.

Then we gambled. I played my $2.50. Mommy played one of my dollars. You can see I come from a family of rabid gamblers.

We lost.

So then back to the car and we left Reno.

Stuck in traffic once we were back in CA on the 2 lane 80 in the mountains.

So sloooooow.

We listened to my "The King and I" CD. Some funny songs on there.

Finally we got through and lotsa driving.

We stopped at the Black Oak for dinner. Split a burger and a mud pie.

Then headed home and stopped to see Grandma. That was fun. She's sharp and interesting and funny.

Then we really went home.

So today I forgot I had a dentist appointment at 9 AM. What I mean is, I thought it was at 10:15 for some reason, so I went to work. And there it was on my calender. Not that I was late. I just missed a chance to sleep in! Grr.

Now I have my permanent cap on.

I miss my fam.
