Congrats to Lisa for getting her driver's permit. Good job, my dear. I hope you have a great time in Laramie...well, more like, I'm sure you will, so I wish you even more happiness :)
As for my dear Jen, I'm glad you found someone to sushi with. If I were with you I might sample a beer or two, out of a purely professional interest..
Which reminds me, I really had better freshen up on my bartending knowledge ASAP! Tomorrow Simone opens, although I don't know the start time. You know what? I think there may have been a meeting yesterday (last night) that I totally missed... then again, they would have told me about it, right? They weren't very clear about what time or if there was one... so I guess I'll be calling them today. I'm not even sure if I still have the number though. This reminds me of something my mom said when I told her about my new job -- are you sure it's not a con? Well, uh, yeah? I laughed at her then but now I'm feeling um... s t r a n g e.
That's another funny thing my mom said last night (I went over and we had dinner together..) She and my dad bought about 6-7 bags of puffed rice (don't ask.*) My mom said she didn't want to buy so many at once any more, the clerk was looking at her strangely. She said she didn't know why because my dad was the one buying them. My mom cracks me up.
*Just because I'm nice I'll tell you. My mom has a bowl of puffed rice and ovaltine every night as she reads before going to sleep. Sans milk, no less.
Well, I'm sleepy. Guess where I wanna go now?

In My Own Backyard!!!
Speaking of movie-making, guess who was skating at the Embarcadero last night, and skated blissfully unaware through a scene taping of "Evidence" a show which is or soon will be on ABC? That would be, Moi. The scene they were shooting was a gray car with a black man (who I recognized! But I don't know his name... I think he was on Mad TV) and a white man (the lighting guy I was talking to thought I'd recognize him but I didn't.) These two must be detectives, they both had on trench coats. Apparently most of the filming is done in Canada, but because it's set in San Francisco, outdoor shots (like of the car driving into a parking space in front of a little cafe-like shop on the Embarcadero) are shot on location. Oh, and they hosed down the street to make it look wet.. Oh, and their background consisted of 3 people, two black men leisurely walking and a white guy zooming past on a bike, STRAIGHT out of San Francisco, people, they nailed that part. (In fact, Trenchcoat Men looked out of place.) So that was fun. (I got to watch and chatted with the lighting guy.)
Some final news...
Ryan's surgery is Monday and although we're all concerned, we're keeping him in our thoughts and prayers.
Um..
