I'm going on a trip next weekend to a health symposium in Washington DC. Thought it would be fun to check it out and then tour the city a bit. I'm going to do a Sites @ Nite bike tour and hopefully I can coordinate it with my mom's friend's daughter who lives in PA. Then I might check out the National Gallery of Art or some other museum. I did all the regular DC tour things with my family a long time ago, although I wouldn't mind seeing them again. I remember being very moved by the Vietnam memorial, it made me cry.
Guess what. I have finished painting my room! Yes, I have! It looks pretty good, all the edge-to-the-trim is done and it looks like I only made one little mistake where the peach goes into the white trim. Oh well. I did that yesterday so I can finally get rid of the paint. I'm donating it through freecycle.
Today I moved some furniture around so I have a living room area, an office, a bedroom, and storage (closet.) The distinctions tend to blend, but I still like it. The comfy pink chair which used to be in the way is now separating the livingroom from the office.
Also, I got a free 30 inch TV from craigslist the other day. I'm about to get it all plugged and make sure it works. It doesn't have a coaxial cable, whatever that is. Since I don't watch TV I only need it to work for the DVD player. The guy said it should work fine for that kinda thing and I didn't want to make him unplug all his new TV and stuff to test it out. I'll keep ya posted.
I'm taking it rather easy though. Was a little sick lately but I think it's over. Maybe the spinach I ate was old or something. Maybe the paint fumes. Anyway, hope everyone's doing good.

Glad your room is coming along. Could you take some pictures? I'd love to see it.
And DC sounds exciting!
Love you! Miss you!
i'll try and get some pics on here. i have to find a good battery for the camera. i think the free tv is too big. or, more like - my room's too small!
glad you finished painting the room! one task off the to-do list.
what convention are you going to in DC? is it for the same group as that class you want to teach?
you don't need a coaxial cable place on the TV if you don't actually need to plug in your cable wire. besides, if the cable wire is plugged into the VCR, you can still watch TV w/ the VCR turned on. a 30" TV is big! you'll definitely have great movie watching ability from bed.
Thanks for the VCR tip. I have to figure it out though. Not that I watch TV anyways, but it might be nice to catch a Simpsons episode or some of the Olympics. I found out the coaxial cable plug has been broken, that's why it's not there. Wonder what the previous owners did...
I'll blog about the convention on my vegan blog when I get a chance, or maybe once I'm home and can add some pics.
