life in sf

This weekend I was slugged off my bike by another biker. Luckily I'm basically ok, and my neck and back weren't re-hurt, although there's another big gaping hole in my holy jeans. :) Plenty of air conditioning there. (He was basically ok too.) My bike, however, needs some attention. The chain just hangs and the back wheel likes to do its own thing now.

I swam after work but I had to use the slow lane. Muscle soreness always hits the next day. Swimming felt good and it was nice to go really slow and enjoy it. The water didn't feel too cold and the showers had hot water. I wonder if someone turned up the water temp a bit. But I nicked my ankle shaving in the shower and I was walking around with a bloody heel for a while before I noticed. Not quite coo.

Had one of my favorite meals again. I am perfecting my vegan toast recipe through trial and error. Well, it's very good as is, but today I tried adding a little cayenne pepper powder along with the ginger, cinnamon, vanilla extract, banana, and rice milk mix. Didn't really do anything. (Perhaps the ginger counteracted the pepperish properties?) Not recommended. I got the idea because Hot Cookie in the Castro has a really yummy chocolate-cayenne pepper cookie. That cookie has bite! It's a meal in itself. Someday I'm going to teach myself how to make a vegan one like it.

mmmmmmmm... cookie....

I miss having daylight in the late afternoon. We've been having great weather though. (Sorry Lisa)
