Hold yer horsies, there's not really much to update. Sometime recently Fall decided to come upon us, so the city has been adrizzle periodically and it's been playing havoc with my wardrobe choices.
Today I was going to go swimming after work but when I got to the YMCA the pool was closed! They were going to reopen at 5pm but I couldn't wait. I'm nearly starving after work. I mean, I've noticed this about myself. After work all I think about is food. So the fact that I can slip in swimming in there at all is a wonder. Usually I want to get straight on the bus and read or listen to a podcast to take my mind off my grumbling tummy.
Now, this is not because vegans go hungry. It's because I'm hungry around 11:15am, when I take my lunch. (It's also best to take it at that time because then the kale salad at Whole Foods is not picked over and there are still strawberries left in the fruit salad.) So my dinner is (hopefully) usually around 5-5:30pm, right when I get home, because by then I'm ready to eat. I haven't really been able to figure out how to handle this swimming/dinner time dynamic satisfactorily. Because I've really cut down on eating out to save money. And I live 40-60 minutes from downtown, depending on the bus. Maybe I can think up some more meals to take with my for dindin on the go. I just like cooking whatever I feel like having at dinner.
Tonight I made french toast again. Yuuuuuuuuuuuum. Also I made mac & chreese, also yum. I put some ginger in the banana/ricemilk/vanilla/cinnamon mix with the french toast but I didn't really taste it so maybe I'll add more next time. Ginger, I have found out, has anti-inflammatory properties.
So now I'm all stuffed and happy and I wish there was a pool closer I could glide around in.
